"Los Minondo" is a historical drama based on a fictitious family (their last name Minondo). Their story is placed in real-life events in Mexican history. The story begins with the Mexican Revolution, right after Emiliano Zapata's death in 1919. It is there that a child is told the history of his family. The story-telling then takes us back to the colonial era. As it progresses it takes us through many generations in which this family interacts with Mexican Independence and the chaotic 1800's in Mexican history, including the U.S./Mexican war and the era of "El Porfiriato". It finally ends where it started, towards the end of the Mexican Revolution in 1919.

Set in Czechoslovakia, the drama follows the lives of its characters against the backdrop of real historical events that shape their personal stories. To evoke period atmosphere, the series intersperses authentic clips from vintage Czechoslovak film newsreels, using their original commentaries or newly recorded historical voice-overs by Vladimír Fišer. A narrator, initially voiced by Vojtěch Kotek and later by Matěj Hádek, provides continuity and reflection, guiding viewers through changing times. Under the guidance of screenwriter Rudolf Merkner, each episode’s script weaves family and individual dramas into key moments of Czech and Slovak history: political shifts, cultural trends, and social transformations from the 1960s onward.

About one faulty circuit breaker and about a man who only found out after death that he had not lived well. František Souček is an electrician who is killed by an electric current during a routine switchboard repair. In spite of everything, he returns home and finds that everyone suspiciously ignores him... After František's death, much has changed: his daughter Iveta is dating the pervert Igor from the neighborhood, his son Vašek has adopted as his surrogate father the judoka Vincent, who has become the lover of his wife Líba... only an encounter with God in heaven can save everything...
